Invoice Capture · Chrome extension privacy

Invoice Capture handles the text you choose to turn into billable lines.

This policy covers the InvoiceCraftly — Invoice Capture Chrome extension. Its purpose is to turn text you explicitly select into reviewed line items and open those lines in an InvoiceCraftly Invoice, Quote, or Estimate.

Last updated: 28 August 2026

What it reads

Only the content you deliberately add

  • Selected website text: the text you explicitly send through Add to InvoiceCraftly.
  • Reviewed line-item fields: description, quantity, unit, and rate values you edit in the side panel.
  • Document choice: Invoice, Quote, or Estimate.

Invoice Capture does not automatically read the rest of the page around your selection or collect the source page URL, page title, or browsing history.

Chrome permissions

Three permissions support the workflow

  • contextMenus — shows Add to InvoiceCraftly for selected text.
  • storage — keeps the temporary capture queue for the current Chrome session.
  • sidePanel — displays the review interface.
Permission scope

The extension does not need broad page access

Invoice Capture does not request host permissions, browsing-history access, tabs, activeTab, or scripting. It does not use content scripts to scan pages.

Temporary storage

Captured lines stay for the current browser session

The capture queue is kept in Chrome's session storage so reviewed lines can remain available if you close and reopen the side panel during the same browser session.

The queue is cleared when you remove the items, choose Clear all, complete a successful document handoff, or end the browser session. The extension does not keep a persistent cloud copy of the capture queue.

When you create a document

Reviewed lines open in the InvoiceCraftly editor

When you choose to create an Invoice, Quote, or Estimate, the extension opens InvoiceCraftly with the reviewed line-item values so you can continue in the editor.

The handoff contains the reviewed description, quantity, unit, and rate. It does not add the source page URL, page title, browsing history, seller details, client details, tax IDs, bank details, payment credentials, or unrelated page content.

Loading invoicecraftly.com creates the normal website requests described in the main Privacy & Data Control policy.

Analytics and remote processing

Captured line items are not sent to an extension analytics service

The extension does not send captured text or reviewed line-item fields to an InvoiceCraftly API, advertising network, extension analytics service, or other third party while you review the queue.

If you have separately allowed analytics on invoicecraftly.com, the website may record a generic extension-handoff success or failure event. That event does not include the selected text, quantity, unit, rate, source page, or document content.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Handled data is used only for the disclosed workflow

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

  • Captured data is used only to provide Invoice Capture and its Invoice, Quote, and Estimate line-item workflow.
  • Captured content is not sold or used for advertising, profiling, market research, or credit decisions.
  • InvoiceCraftly personnel cannot read the temporary capture queue because the extension does not transmit that queue to InvoiceCraftly for storage.
Your control

You decide what is captured and when it leaves the queue

You can edit or remove individual lines, clear the entire queue, choose the document type, create the document, or end the browser session.

Selected text can contain confidential, personal, financial, or client information. Select only the content you intend to use as a billable line item.

Changes and contact

If a future extension version materially changes the permissions, data handling, storage, or remote-processing behavior, this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosures will be updated for that release.
