Where the rates come from

Rates are the European Central Bank's daily reference rates, published once per business day against the euro. This tool converts between two currencies using the euro as the common cross rate.

Reference, not booking

Not an accounting, booked, or transaction rate

Reference rates are for information only. Your bank, payment provider, or accounting system may use a different rate, spread, or fee for an actual transaction.

Before invoicing

Review before using a converted amount

Converting an amount here does not change your invoice automatically. Review the reference rate and date, then enter the reviewed amount in the invoice editor yourself.

ECB FX reference-rate calculator FAQ

How often are the rates updated?

The European Central Bank publishes reference rates once per business day. The rate date shown with your result is the date the European Central Bank last published.

Can I use this rate on an invoice?

You can use it as a reference point, but confirm the actual applicable rate with your bank, payment provider, or accounting system before using it on an invoice.

Why is my bank's rate different?

Banks and payment providers commonly apply their own spread or fee on top of a reference rate, so their quoted rate is usually different from the European Central Bank's reference rate.
